The Honors College is continuing appointments and services virtually due to efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among our campus population.

We are still here for you. Due to efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among our campus population, however, all Honors College services are available virtually until further notice.

The Honors College will be available via phone (317-274-2660) and email (honors@iupui.edu) during the following hours:

Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Appointments are continuing as scheduled. Due to efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among our campus population, however, we are moving to online appointments until further notice.

Online appointments are available during regular business hours via Zoom. You may schedule new online appointments here. Will S grades in honors courses fulfill honors credit at IUPUI?

According to the Emergency Exceptions to Academic Policies document, “S grades for courses completed in spring 2020 will count for any and all degree, admissions indices, and prerequisite requirements internal to IUPUI.” S grades earned in honors courses during spring 2020 will fulfill honors credit at IUPUI.

Will P grades in honors courses fulfill honors credit at IUPUI?

According to the Emergency Exceptions to Academic Policies document, “P grades for courses completed in spring 2020 will NOT count for any degree requirements internal to IUPUI.” P grades earned in honors courses during spring 2020 will not fulfill honors requirements at IUPUI. P grades include grades of C–, D+, D, or D–.

What if I elect NOT to convert a grade to an S for an honors class? Will I still earn honors credit for that class?

Any grade of B or higher earned in an honors class will fulfill honors credit. Any grade lower than a B in an honors class will not earn honors credit. Honors advisors will work with students in this situation to develop a plan to get back on track starting with the fall 2020 semester. Honors program students will work with their honors advisor in their academic schools to develop a plan to get back on track starting with the fall 2020 semester.

What if I’m a graduating senior and I elect NOT to convert a grade of C or better to an S for an honors class? Will I still earn honors credit for that class?

Any grade of B or higher earned in an honors class will fulfill honors credit. Honors students who earn a grade lower than a B in an honors class (C or lower) and, after consulting their academic advisor in their school and instructor, elect not to convert the grade to an S, may discuss their individual situation with Lisa Ruch, director of academic affairs, or Kristina Sheeler, executive associate dean of the Honors College.

What if I’m a graduating senior and I elect NOT to convert a grade of C or better to an S and my cumulative GPA falls below the 3.3 required for graduation with honors? Will I still graduate with honors?

Students in this situation who wish to graduate with honors AND who were making satisfactory academic progress toward graduation with honors prior to spring 2020 may discuss their situation with Lisa Ruch, director of academic affairs, or Kristina Sheeler, executive associate dean of the Honors College.
