Ruba chose IUPUI for its diverse and tolerant community and its excellence in academics, which are important to her as a budding healthcare professional. One of her goals is to be a person of impact and action on the IUPUI campus and the surrounding areas by focusing on service to others. She has already expanded her impact to the local Syrian refugee community by assisting with relief efforts and helping these families to feel at home in a new country. She also volunteered to be an ambassador for an interfaith team in her community to help bridge the gap between different religions and cultures. Ruba is excited for the opportunities to give back to the community as a Bepko Scholar.
