Judy has learned a lot about IUPUI from family and friends who earned their degrees here, and even though it is close to home, she recognizes that the opportunities awaiting her will benefit her now and later on in life. Being a Bepko Scholar is extremely important to her because of how prominent volunteer work and connecting with the community have been in her life. Two of her most important accomplishments are working with the Umoja Project to help children in Kenya and starting a youth group for Muslim girls. She wants to make her mark at IUPUI by interacting with others in ways that everyone feels respected and appreciated.
