IUPUI already feels like home to Abby, who visited campus often for swim competitions. Along with having one of the best nursing programs in the state, her choice to come to IUPUI was an easy one. She put those swimming skills to work in different ways as a volunteer lifeguard and water safety instructor for special education youth. Abby continued to serve her peers by organizing a dress drive to provide students with formal dresses free of charge, opening up opportunities for them to take part in the tradition of school dances. Serving her community has been an integral part of her life, and she looks forward to being a part of the Bepko Scholar community where she can connect with like-minded students toward the goal of improving the lives of those who call IUPUI and Indianapolis home.
