Emily found community and purpose as a Bepko Scholar and Fellow. “I felt at home with the Honors College and it truly shaped my community and goals at IUPUI”, she says. Emily feels supported in her goals beyond undergrad as a Bepko Fellow and recognized for her leadership, service, and scholarship. As a Bepko Scholar, Emily participated in many service and leadership organizations on campus. She was the president of Timmy Global Health (now VIDA Health Partnerships), an organization that advocates for health equity locally and globally while providing health services to underserved populations. Emily was selected for the Top 10 award for undergraduate IUPUI students in 2018, which recognizes and honors her commitment to academics, co-curricular activities, and service. After graduating, Emily plans to pursue a residency in Emergency Medicine. Emily’s favorite book is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, and she enjoys listening to audiobooks, jogging, taking walks with her black lab, and taking care of her houseplants. She is motivated by her faith and the support she receives from her family and friends.
